A Husband in His Backyard Is Trying to Fly a Kite — His Wife’s Response Is Hilarious!
A husband was standing in his backyard on a beautiful, windy afternoon, trying his best to fly a kite.
He ran across the grass, pulled the string, and watched the kite rise a few feet into the air before crashing straight back down.
He tried again.
And again.
After nearly an hour of struggling, his wife finally came outside to see what all the noise was about.
She stood on the patio, watching him run back and forth across the yard.
“Why on earth are you running around like that?” she asked.
“I’m trying to fly this kite!” he replied, slightly out of breath.
His wife looked up at the sky, then at the kite lying on the grass.
“Well, it doesn’t seem to be working, does it?”
“I’m waiting for the wind to pick up!” he shouted.
His wife folded her arms.
“Darling, perhaps you should try letting out more string.”
“I’ve already let out all the string!”
“Then perhaps you should stop running in circles!”
The husband sighed, gathered the kite, and prepared for another attempt.
Just then, his neighbor leaned over the fence.
“Having trouble getting it airborne?” the neighbor asked.
“Yes!” the husband replied. “I’ve been at it for an hour!”
The neighbor studied the kite for a moment.
Then he asked, “Have you checked whether it’s assembled correctly?”
The husband looked offended.
“Of course I have! I’m not an idiot!”
His wife raised an eyebrow.
“Really? Then why is the tail still in the box?”
The neighbor burst out laughing.
The husband slowly turned around and looked at the unopened package lying on the patio table.
After a long silence, he picked it up and began attaching the tail.
A few minutes later, the kite finally soared high into the sky.
The husband threw his arms up triumphantly.
“There! I told you I could do it!”
His wife smiled.
“Wonderful, darling!”
He grinned proudly.
“See? Sometimes all you need is a little patience and determination!”
His wife nodded.
“Absolutely. And sometimes, all you need is a wife who knows how to read the instructions!”
The neighbor laughed so hard he had to sit down.
The husband looked at his wife, shook his head, and smiled.
“One day,” he said, “I’m going to win an argument with you.”
His wife patted him on the shoulder.
“Of course, darling. Just make sure you read the instructions first!”
