My Wife’s ‘Best’ Friend Teased Her Postpartum Body, Saying She ‘Gave All Her Beauty to the Baby’ – I Made Sure She Regretted It Instantly

Posted on May 8, 2026 By Aga Co No Comments on My Wife’s ‘Best’ Friend Teased Her Postpartum Body, Saying She ‘Gave All Her Beauty to the Baby’ – I Made Sure She Regretted It Instantly

I was mistaken about the comfort that some individuals may provide, even though I had assumed that my wife would benefit from having a familiar person around during one of the most trying times in her life. I made sure that when things went too far, there were repercussions.

Just two weeks had passed since my wife, Sarah, gave birth to our baby. Since then, she had only been able to get a few hours of slumber here and there, never enough to feel human again.

She had not had an easy time giving delivery. She appeared to have to struggle with her own body even to move across the room.

She was no longer the owner of sleep. It was only there.

To meet baby Maria, a small group of close friends and family members came over.

Sarah’s “best friend,” Tiffany, contacted that same day and suggested she “might drop by after all.” At the last minute, she decided to alter her mind after first declining. Weary and exposed, Sarah nodded. I reasoned that she could benefit from seeing someone she could trust.

That’s not what I should have assumed.

therefore it was ineffective.

Tiffany didn’t show up like a visitor to a baby. She walked in as if she were entering a room full of people who ought to be impressed. Sharp cosmetics, flawless hair, and high-end shoes that click against the ground.

Other visitors had sent food, presents, and silent encouragement. Tiffany came by herself.

Sarah, clearly exhausted but making an effort to remain present, sat on the couch and held Maria close. Even though she had hardly had time to heal, she continued to smile courteously when others addressed her.

Tiffany then began to speak.

She gave the infant a fleeting glance before focusing on Sarah.

She laughed softly and exclaimed, “Oh wow, she’s gorgeous.” She took everything from you, didn’t she? It’s almost comical. You used to draw attention, after all. You just seem totally wiped out now.

In an instant, the room changed.

Sarah remained silent. Her countenance tightened and her eyes glassed over as she blinked and held Maria closer.

Tiffany didn’t end there.

Laughing as if she had said something witty, she continued to talk about how “smart” she was for not spoiling her body with children.

Something inside of me became motionless at that point.

since this was nothing new.

Although Tiffany had always been envious of Sarah, it had now become something more repulsive—something she appeared to take pleasure in.

It was something I had heard before. A few words. compliments that are backhanded. When she believed Sarah wouldn’t resist, she employed the same scathing tone.

Rather than responding right away, I got up and left the room.

Nobody took notice.

After one of her “jokes” had gone too far, I walked downstairs, opened the storage closet, and pulled out something I had prepared days earlier.

Then I came back.

“Tiffany, I have something for you,” I politely interrupted her.

Curious at once, she turned. “Oh? What is it?

I put a box that was wrapped in front of her.

Unwrapping it, she grinned.

After that, it vanished.

There was a hefty, well-organized folder within.

not ornamental. Not at random.

deliberate.

Before she could even open it all the way, her fingers froze.

“What… is this?” she questioned, becoming quieter all of a sudden.

I answered, “You’ll see.”

Confused, Sarah glanced between us. “Jack?”

However, I kept my gaze fixed on Tiffany.

I said, “Open it.”

When she did, her face lost all of its color.

Printed records of transfers, dates, and amounts were found inside.

Sarah had “helped” her each time.

Every justification. All of the promises. Each “I’ll reimburse you shortly”

arranged. highlighted. Unquestionable.

Unknowingly, a few people in the room leaned forward.

Tiffany took a small step back. “You experienced my life? Really?

I gave a headshake. “No. Sarah had faith in you. I simply listened.

There was a long period of silence.

I turned the folder so that everyone could see it.

“It didn’t help,” I remarked. “It was a one-way reliance.”

Nobody spoke up.

Not even Tiffany.

I then took another item out of the box.

Tiny. Easily wrapped.

I gave it to her.

This time, she paused for a little moment before ripping it open.

There was a mirror within.

It has a letter taped behind it.

Before she could stop herself, she instinctively unfolded it and read aloud:

“Perhaps it’s time to examine the one thing you’ve been stealing from everyone.”

At the end, her voice wavered.

The room fell silent.

Tiffany was at a loss for words for the first time since her arrival.

She turned to face the mirror.

Then at herself.

And something in her countenance fell apart—not spectacularly, but subtly, like a mask coming off when the applause stops.

She set it aside.

took hold of her luggage.

and departed without saying anything more.

After she left, the door closed.

I looked back at Sarah.

Her shoulders had relaxed, as if something she had been carrying without realizing had finally been put down, even though she was still holding Maria.

She said, “You didn’t have to do all that.”

“Yes,” I answered. “Yes, I did.”

After giving me a long look, she stood cautiously and leaned in close to me so as not to wake the infant.

The room gradually softened around us once more. The stress subsided. People’s breathing returned to normal.

Nobody mentioned Tiffany.

They were not required to.

Later, after everything had subsided, Sarah returned to her seat, still taking it all in.

“I feel foolish,” she said. “I allowed that to continue for a very long time.”

I said, “You didn’t let it happen.” “You simply put your trust in someone who didn’t deserve it.”

She refrained from arguing.

Sarah’s attention immediately changed when Maria made a tiny noise in her arms; it was spontaneous and natural. Once more, her voice became calm and gentle.

And I could definitely see it.

Tiffany hadn’t taken that away from her with whatever she said.

The house gradually emptied after nightfall.

Before departing, the final visitors gave Sarah a hug, spoke softly, and stayed longer than normal.

There was no longer a crushing quiet as the door finally closed.

It was peaceful.

Sarah’s phone lit up later that evening.

Tiffany.

The message was incisive.

I’m not sorry. Not thoughtful. Just furious.

“You made me look foolish in front of everyone.” I’ve always known you’re a bad buddy.

It was read by both of us.

Sarah then let out a breath.

“I’m done,” she murmured.

Before I could reply, she typed:

“Avoid us if that’s how you feel. Additionally, the money you owe will be handled appropriately if you keep getting in touch with me.

It was sent by her.

There was no response.

Just quiet.

It felt different the following morning.

Clearer, but not flawless.

Sunlight flooded the room as Sarah brought Maria close to the window.

She remarked, “I used to think I owed her something.” “I see now that all I was afraid of was losing the thought of her.”

I gave a nod. “People sometimes mistake loyalty for guilt.”

She gave our kid a small grin as she looked down at her.

“I no longer want that in my life.”

I replied, “Then it won’t be.”

I really did mean it.

She was still sitting quietly by the window when I found her a week later.

She said, “You know what changed?”

“What?”

She remarked, “I thought I’d feel like I lost someone.” However, I don’t. It makes me feel lighter. It seemed as if there was a space that I had previously been unable to see.

I glanced at our daughter and her.

And I knew exactly what she meant.

There are those who never leave emptiness behind.

They make space.
