Years after kicking his wife and newborn twins onto the streets, a new father begs her for assistance.

A young father who couldn’t afford to raise his twins asked his wife to give one of the babies up for adoption. When she refused, and knocked on his door five years later, he threw her out along with the children.

Angie was at a bus stop, holding her newborn twins on a cold and rainy night. “Where should we go? Lord, help us. Please hold us through this painful night,” she sobbed, gently wiping the warm tears off her babies’ cheeks. Angie was homeless, and her parents were no longer alive.

She sensed something creeping behind her and grew fearful. But she stood her ground for the sake of her children. “It’s just a dog,” she muttered.

Angie had no idea that everything in her life would shift overnight. It came as a complete shock when her loving and loyal husband, Jake, abandoned her and their newborns only a week after they were born.

“I wish I had my mother here today,” Angie wept, remembering her late mom. “I’m sorry, Mama. I should’ve listened to you. I shouldn’t have rushed into marrying Jake.”

“You can stay in this house if you’re keeping only one baby. But if you want to keep both, then you’ll have to leave. Choose wisely, my dear.”

Five years earlier, just after graduating, Angie had met Jake. He was young, charming, and handsome — everything she thought was perfect. Their romance felt like a fairytale, but it didn’t end like one.

When Angie told Jake she was pregnant in their fourth year together, everything started to fall apart.

“But sweetheart, I just launched my business.” Jake looked disappointed as Angie showed him the two pink lines on the test. They had been putting off having children for years.

Jake’s response revealed how unprepared he was for fatherhood. Angie had to choose between his rejection and her own longing to become a mother — and she hadn’t yet told him that they were expecting twins.

“I’m okay with having a child… just one,” Jake said as Angie walked into the ultrasound room. “I really hope you’re not going to come out and tell me we’re having twins,” he added with a sarcastic smile.

But fate had its own plans.

Angie came out of the scanning room looking pale, anxious, and nothing like the glowing, joyful mother-to-be she had imagined herself being.

“What’s wrong?” Jake asked, clearly impatient. “What did the doctor say?”

Angie braced herself. “The babies are doing well,” she said softly.

“Alright, but wait… babies?” Jake exclaimed.

The ultrasound had revealed two little lives growing inside her. Jake wasn’t happy.

Jake stormed off toward his car. Angie could already read his mind and imagined the wave of frustration in him. She hoped he had only been joking when he said he wanted one child. But his actions proved otherwise.

He became more distant and focused all his energy on making money. Angie had hoped he’d come around, but as her pregnancy progressed, especially during the third trimester, his frustration only grew worse.

At the hospital, Angie waited eagerly for Jake to visit her and meet their twin girls. But he never came. Instead, his maid and driver brought her and the babies home after three days.

Jake avoided them completely. He didn’t hold them, didn’t welcome them — he didn’t even want to look at them. He wasn’t ready to be a father, and he made that painfully clear.

That night, as Angie returned home with her newborns, Jake delivered his final ultimatum: “You can keep one baby, and we’ll raise her together. But if you insist on keeping both, then you’ll have to leave.”

At first, Angie thought he was joking. But then he brought her suitcase out and placed it in front of her, his face deadly serious.

“I’m not going to waste money raising two kids. Now that my business is finally profitable, I need to focus on growing it, not raising two babies. One child is manageable — two is too much,” he said.

Angie was devastated. “Jake, these are our babies. How could you even ask a mother to give one of her children away? Are you insane? They both came from love,” she cried. But Jake wouldn’t budge.

“My business is growing. I don’t have time for family. I’m not spending my money on two babies. It’s either one or none. Make your choice,” he said coldly.

Angie knew what she had to do. With no place to go, she picked up her suitcase and left the house with her twins. Jake, blinded by greed and ambition, had completely failed as a husband and father.

Snapping back to the present, Angie found herself alone with her babies at the rainy bus stop. “Where do we go now? Please, God, help us,” she whispered. Just then, a bright beam of light broke through the darkness.

“Hey, are you alright? It’s raining heavily. Would you like a lift, dear?” asked an older woman stepping out of a taxi. She looked like a nun. Angie approached the car, holding her babies tight inside her jacket.

“Oh my goodness, your babies are so beautiful!” the nun exclaimed. “Get in, I’ll drop you wherever you need to go. Where are you headed?”

“I don’t know, Sister,” Angie replied, tears in her eyes. “I’m completely lost. Someone I loved left me and my babies behind, and I have nowhere to go.”

The nun was moved by Angie’s pain and took her and the babies to the convent.

Angie and her daughters, Sophie and Marley, found safety and peace during those hard days. Angie began working as a teacher in the church school. After two years of part-time work in a restaurant, she saved enough to start her own café.

Slowly, she began to rebuild her life and give her daughters a better future. Although Jake was never part of their lives again, Angie never regretted her choice. Deep down, she hoped he would one day see his mistake and come back for them.

Five years passed. Angie now had her own little house — small, but warm and full of love. Watching Sophia and Marley grow brought her endless joy.

Although her business faced ups and downs, Angie’s faith and determination kept her strong. Eventually, she opened two more coffee shops in the city and her income grew steadily. Meanwhile, Jake’s business collapsed elsewhere.

Drowning in debt, with every financial door closing on him, Jake finally thought of the only person who might help him — Angie.

One day, Jake showed up unannounced. “Hi, how are you?” he asked as Angie opened the door. “Can I come in?”

He offered a weak smile. “I’m sorry for everything, Angie. My thirst for wealth destroyed everything. I lost it all, and it’s what I deserved for abandoning you and our babies. Please… forgive me. Help me.”

Angie knew exactly why Jake was there. She had heard of his downfall, but never imagined he would come seeking her forgiveness — or her help.

Jake burst into tears when he saw a photo of Angie and their daughters. “I’m so sorry, my beautiful girls. Please forgive your dad,” he said, trembling.

Angie’s heart softened. She had once loved Jake deeply, and despite everything, she helped him — even though he came back in ruins.

“I can’t give you a huge sum right now,” she told him. “But I’ll try. I’ll need some time. You were a terrible husband and father. But if you really want to change, I’ll help you.”

She handed him a check, and Jake couldn’t hold back his tears.

“The night you kicked me out, I learned what greed can do to love and family,” Angie said gently. “And today, I’ve learned what forgiveness really means. Holding on to pain doesn’t fix anything. We all make mistakes. But it’s human to forgive.”

Jake admitted his guilt and promised to come back into Angie’s and their daughters’ lives once he got back on his feet. He wanted to raise his children with love and make up for the years Angie suffered alone.
