Two blondes were taking their first train trip to Toronto on the train

Two blonde friends, Sarah and Emily, were on their very first train journey to Toronto. They had been looking forward to the trip for weeks, eagerly talking about all the sights they’d see and the adventures that awaited them in the big city. They were both quite excited, especially because they had never been on a train before and everything felt new and thrilling.

As the train hummed along the tracks, they sat in their seats, chatting and enjoying the view of the passing countryside. The rhythmic sound of the train’s wheels on the tracks provided a comforting background as they looked out the windows at the changing scenery. The train was lively, with passengers chatting, reading, or relaxing as it made its way toward Toronto.

At one point, a vendor came down the narrow corridor, pushing a cart filled with all sorts of snacks and treats. The vendor was selling something neither Sarah nor Emily had ever seen before – bananas that were larger and seemed to have an unusually bright yellow peel. Intrigued, the two friends decided to buy one each. They were curious about the exotic fruit and eager to try something new on their journey.

The vendor handed them the bananas with a smile, and the two women thanked him before peeling back the skins. The bananas felt firm and smooth in their hands, their bright yellow color almost glowing in the light of the train. They took a moment to admire them before taking their first bite.

Sarah, ever the eager one, took a big, enthusiastic bite, savoring the texture and sweetness of the fruit. She smiled with satisfaction, feeling like she was having a little adventure of her own. As she chewed, the train suddenly entered a dark tunnel, plunging the interior of the train into temporary darkness. The loud whoosh of the train moving through the tunnel filled the air as Sarah continued to chew on her banana.

The train emerged from the tunnel a moment later, and the lights flickered back on. Sarah looked across the table at Emily, who was about to take a bite of her banana, and suddenly felt a sharp wave of concern. Sarah, still chewing the last of her banana, stared at her friend with a mixture of seriousness and caution.

Emily, noticing the look, asked, “What’s wrong?”

“I wouldn’t eat that if I were you,” Sarah said, a bit worried.

Emily, confused, raised an eyebrow. “Why not?”

Sarah took a deep breath and, with a look of mild concern, explained, “I took one bite and went blind for half a minute.”

Emily paused, looking at Sarah with a puzzled expression. “What do you mean you went blind?” she asked, almost incredulously.

“I’m serious,” Sarah said, her voice a little more urgent now. “I swear, after I bit into the banana, everything went completely dark for, like, thirty seconds. I couldn’t see a thing. It was so weird, like some weird optical illusion or something!”

Emily stared at her for a moment, processing what she had just heard. Then, she looked down at the banana in her hand. Her eyes flicked back up to Sarah, who was now sitting there with a worried look on her face. Sarah was still holding her banana, half-eaten, but with a look of real concern in her eyes.

“Well,” Emily said after a brief pause, with a grin slowly spreading across her face, “I guess I’ll just finish this banana and see for myself.”

Sarah gave her a wide-eyed, half-worried, half-amused stare. “No, seriously, Emily. I’m not joking. I think you’re gonna go blind for a minute too if you eat it! It’s not worth it!”

But Emily, the ever-curious one, was already taking her first bite, savoring the fruit with a carefree laugh. “We’ll see if that happens,” she said confidently.

As she chewed, Sarah anxiously waited, watching her closely. Emily paused for a moment, chewing slowly and looking out the window. Then, with a playful smirk, Emily said, “You’re just trying to scare me, aren’t you?”

Sarah shook her head in frustration. “I swear! I’m not making it up! It’s like the banana was cursed or something!”

Emily, now smiling and amused, shrugged. “Guess I’ll be fine. I’m not afraid of a little fruit.”

A moment passed. Then, just as Sarah had predicted, Emily’s face changed. Her eyes widened, and she put the half-eaten banana down slowly. “Wait a minute… What is happening?” she muttered, her voice suddenly sounding uncertain.

“See? I told you!” Sarah exclaimed with a laugh. “You went blind, didn’t you?”

Emily blinked rapidly, then shook her head and laughed. “Well, okay, maybe just a little! That was the strangest thing I’ve ever experienced!” She glanced around the train, looking a bit disoriented for a second before regaining her composure. “I guess you were right,” she said, laughing again. “But it’s still a weird coincidence. Maybe it’s just the tunnel messing with my eyes.”

But Sarah wasn’t quite convinced. “I’m telling you, there’s something odd about those bananas! I’m not going to eat another one of those anytime soon.”

The two women shared a laugh as they returned to their seats, still talking about the strange experience. They had no idea what had caused the temporary blindness, but they agreed that the tunnel ride had added an unexpected twist to their trip.

The train continued to speed along the tracks, and as they looked out the window once again, they saw the towering skyscrapers of Toronto slowly beginning to appear in the distance. The rest of the trip would pass without incident, but for Sarah and Emily, the mystery of the “blind bananas” would become one of their favorite stories to tell for years to come.
