A devastating accident occurred this morning on the Tepic–Mazatlán highway near the San Blas intersection, close to El Jicote, claiming the lives of three women and leaving one man injured. The victims were traveling in a red Nissan Versa, which reportedly veered into the wrong lane and collided head-on with a refrigerated three-ton truck.
The impact was catastrophic. The three women—identified as Elva Karina “N,” Irma Leticia “N,” and Yolanda Leticia “N”—were killed instantly at the scene. All three were teachers at the Rosamorada Technical Secondary School and originally from the municipalities of Santiago Ixcuintla and Rosamorada. The vehicle’s driver, identified as Gilberto “N,” is believed to be the school’s principal. He sustained injuries in the crash and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
