Jackie Johnson-Smith was dining with her family at a pizza restaurant in Iowa when she experienced an unexpected act of kindness.
In a Facebook post, she shared a photo of the dinner receipt and wrote: “I’ve breastfed all three of my children… I’ve done so in many places—some pleasant, some not—sometimes discreetly, sometimes openly. I’ve received all kinds of looks, but tonight erased every negative experience I’ve ever had. We were at Fongs for the first time. My baby was fussy, so I nursed him in the booth and eventually left the table early so as not to disturb other diners.”
“The waitress gave this receipt to my husband. I was speechless and deeply moved. I don’t need praise just for feeding my child, but it truly felt amazing. It’s incredible how powerful it can be when women support and empower one another,” she concluded.
According to Des Moines’ KCCI 8 News, the handwritten note on the receipt came from waitress Bodi Kinney, who told the station: “We need to come together and support each other when it comes to nursing our children.”
Jackie’s post was shared over 2,000 times, with many commenters echoing Kinney’s message and highlighting the importance of compassion and solidarity among women.
