Customer First, Always

It was a regular day at the office when suddenly, a loud voice echoed down the hallway.

“LITTLE JOHNNY! COME TO MY OFFICE RIGHT NOW!” the boss shouted, loud enough to scare even the copy machine.

Little Johnny, sitting quietly at his desk, immediately stood up.
“Yes, sir!” he said, hurrying toward the boss’s office.

He wasn’t sure what had happened, but judging by the tone, it wasn’t going to be about a promotion.

As he stepped inside the office, the boss glared at him with raised eyebrows and a tight jaw.

“Johnny,” the boss said after a dramatic pause, “I saw you arguing with the customer who just left.”

Johnny stood tall, ready to explain.
“Yes, sir,” he replied calmly.

“I’ve told you this before,” the boss continued, “the customer is always right. Do you understand that?”

Johnny nodded with confidence.
“Yes, sir! The customer is always right.”

The boss leaned back in his chair and narrowed his eyes.
“Then tell me—what were you arguing about with him?”

Johnny took a breath and replied,
“Well, sir, he said my boss is stupid and an idiot.”

Silence fell. The boss blinked, stunned.
“He said WHAT?” he whispered.

“He said it loudly, a few times,” Johnny continued, maintaining his calm expression.

The boss turned red and pushed back from his desk.
“That fool! How dare he talk about me like that?”

“Well…” Johnny shrugged. “I told him he was right.”

The boss froze.
“You told him WHAT?”

“I told him he was right,” Johnny repeated, as cool as ever.

The boss sat down again, suddenly feeling weak in the knees.
“So… you AGREED with him?”

“Yes, sir. You said it yourself. The customer is always right.”

The boss raised a finger as if to argue, then stopped. He realized he had just walked into his own trap.

For a moment, both stood in silence. One waiting for punishment, the other trying to recover his pride.

“Listen, Johnny…” the boss finally said. “There’s an exception to the rule when the customer insults the boss.”

Johnny nodded thoughtfully.
“So the customer is always right… except when they’re talking about you personally?”

The boss made a face as if trying to solve the meaning of life.
**“Something like that,” he muttered.

Johnny smirked.
“Alright, boss. I’ll remember that next time someone calls you an idiot.”
