Chilling footage has revealed Charlie Kirk’s final words, spoken just moments before his tragic assassination.
The 31-year-old right-wing activist was shot dead on a university campus in Utah on Wednesday evening, September 10. News of his death was quickly confirmed by former President Donald Trump on social media.
In his statement, Trump paid tribute to Kirk, saying: “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika and his family. Charlie, we love you!”
Video footage of the attack has circulated on X (formerly Twitter), showing the horrifying moment when a loud gunshot rang out. Kirk was struck violently in the neck, collapsing in his chair as blood poured from the wound.
Moments before the shooting, Kirk had been answering questions from audience members. One attendee asked, “Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?”
Kirk’s response was solemn: “Too many.”
When asked in a follow-up question about the total number of mass shooters in America over the past decade, Kirk replied: “Counting or not counting gang violence?”
Seconds later, the fatal gunshot rang out, ending his life.
In the aftermath, U.S. authorities provided updates regarding the investigation. The search for the shooter is ongoing. While two individuals were initially arrested in connection with the incident, they were subsequently released after authorities determined they had no current ties to the shooting. Police have not yet disclosed whether they have any viable leads on the perpetrator.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the developments on Wednesday evening, stating: “The subjects in custody have been released after interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues, and we will continue to release information in the interest of transparency.”
Following confirmation of Kirk’s death, President Trump addressed the nation directly, offering a heartfelt tribute to his close friend. He expressed that he is “filled with grief and anger at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk,” describing the event as a profoundly “dark moment for America.”
