Sandra has largely stayed out of the public eye since August 2023, following the death of her longtime partner from ALS, but she is gradually returning to both the entertainment world and the dating scene.
Recently, Sandra Bullock was spotted running errands on July 12, just a few weeks before celebrating a milestone birthday. Dressed entirely in white, she smiled at photographers as she left a dermatologist’s office in Beverly Hills.
According to a source speaking to Us Weekly, Sandra is slowly re-emerging into public life.
“She’s excited about what’s ahead,” the source said. “She’s ready to be in the spotlight again.”
The star, who turned 60 on July 26, has taken time to reflect on her career and accomplishments. With over 50 films to her name, including her breakout role in the action thriller Speed (1994), as well as Miss Congeniality, The Blind Side, and The Proposal, Sandra’s impact on Hollywood is undeniable. In 2005, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and in 2014, Forbes ranked her as the second most powerful actress, while Time 100 recognized her as one of the world’s most influential people.
Fans were surprised when Sandra stepped back from the spotlight two years ago. In March 2022, following the release of her romantic comedy The Lost City, she announced she would take a break from acting.
“I can be creative, I can be part of a community, but right now, work in front of the camera needs to pause,” she told CBS at the time. When asked how long she would be away from Hollywood, she replied, “I don’t know… until I don’t feel the way I feel now when I’m in front of a camera.”
Since then, her only acting appearance was a brief but memorable cameo in the action-comedy Bullet Train (2022), alongside Brad Pitt, her co-star from The Lost City.
Sandra dedicated much of her time to her family—her son Louis and daughter Layla—and to supporting her photographer partner of eight years, Bryan Randall, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2020. On a 2021 episode of Red Table Talk, Sandra called Bryan the “love of my life” and was by his side privately as he battled the progressive and fatal motor neuron disease, which gradually destroys nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
Now, it seems, Sandra is slowly reopening that chapter of her life, finding ways to balance personal healing with a gradual return to the public eye.
