Barack Obama responded to criticism following President Trump’s defense of the contentious AI video.

Obama has responded to the controversy surrounding President Donald Trump’s AI-generated movie that showed him and Michelle Obama as apes.

The video, which surfaced on Trump’s Truth Social account in February of this year, sparked fury on social media when viewers noticed the racial imagery at the conclusion of a longer film that made unfounded allegations of voter fraud.

In the past, Trump defended the upload, claiming the film was mostly about “voter fraud” and referring to it as a “strong piece,” while White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt brushed off criticism as “fake outrage.”

Following years of animosity between Trump and Obama, the current US president posted a phony video of his predecessor getting jailed.

Obama has now addressed the video in a comprehensive interview with The New Yorker, stating that although he does not take personal criticism personally, his family is a different story.

“I don’t take it personally,” Obama told the outlet, adding, “I mean, I’m always offended when my wife and kids get dragged into things, because they didn’t choose this. . . . That’s a line that even people whose politics I deeply reject, I would expect them to care about.” I would never discuss someone’s family in such a manner.

The Tokens song The Lion Sleeps Tonight, which is well-known for being played in The Lion King, was playing in the backdrop of the AI clip in question, which featured the former president and former First Lady with their faces superimposed on the bodies of apes.

At the time, it was widely denounced. Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, wrote on X (previously Twitter): “Every single Republican must denounce this.” Right now.

Obama’s deputy national security adviser, Ben Rhodes, also criticized the tweet, writing, “Let it haunt Trump and his racist followers that future Americans will embrace the Obamas as beloved figures while studying him as a stain on our history.”

Trump declined to publicly apologize for the content of the video despite the criticism.

“That was a video on, as you know, voter fraud,” he shared during a February press conference at the White House. A lengthy video containing a little segment about “The Lion King”

“It’s doing very well, it’s being shown all over the place,” he continued. long before the post was made. You must have seen that excellent article about voter fraud.

“I think the piece you’re referring to was everywhere for years.”

Leavitt also defended the video at the time, telling Tyla, “This is from an internet meme video depicting Democrats as characters from The Lion King and President Trump as the King of the Jungle.”

“Please report on something that truly matters to the American public today and put an end to the fake outrage.”

Obama also stated in an interview with the New Yorker that he was more worried about Trump’s AI-generated videos, which depict “excrement dumped on ordinary citizens” and treat war “like a video game.”

“I mean, you can feel free to pick on me because I’m your own size, so I’m a fair target.” He continued.
