USS Abraham Lincoln Naval Giant Under Attack!

Posted on March 2, 2026 By Aga Co No Comments on USS Abraham Lincoln Naval Giant Under Attack!

As of March 2, 2026, the waters of the Gulf and the Arabian Sea have emerged as the focal point of a rapidly escalating global security crisis—one with the potential to redefine the geopolitical balance of the 21st century. In the wake of sweeping U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iran, Iranian state-linked media and senior officials from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a dramatic claim: that the USS Abraham Lincoln, a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and one of the most visible symbols of American naval dominance, had been struck directly in a retaliatory missile attack.

According to Tehran’s account, the incident occurred late on March 1, when four ballistic missiles allegedly hit the carrier in what was described as a coordinated and deliberate response. Yet this narrative sharply conflicts with statements from the U.S. Department of Defense, which categorically denies that the vessel sustained any damage. The stark divergence between the two versions has created a dense fog of war—one that analysts, policymakers, and a deeply unsettled international community are now attempting to penetrate.

The Iranian Narrative: Escalation Framed as Retaliation

Iranian state outlets, including IRNA, reported that the strike formed part of what they called “Operation True Promise 4.” The IRGC characterized the attack as a measured but forceful reply to joint U.S.–Israeli airstrikes carried out on February 28, 2026—operations that reportedly targeted critical Iranian military infrastructure and senior leadership figures.

In official statements, the IRGC declared that its campaign against what it termed “American-Zionist enemy targets” had entered a “new phase,” warning that both land and sea would become increasingly hostile terrain for U.S. forces. By asserting that a U.S. aircraft carrier had been successfully hit, Tehran sought to signal not only military capability but symbolic parity. An aircraft carrier is more than a naval vessel; it functions as sovereign American territory, a floating airbase supporting thousands of personnel and advanced combat aircraft. To claim damage to such an asset is to project an image of strategic reach and deterrent credibility.

The Pentagon’s Response: Firm Denial

Washington responded quickly and unequivocally. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) rejected the Iranian account as false, stating that although missiles had been launched in the direction of U.S. naval assets in the Gulf of Oman, none struck the USS Abraham Lincoln. According to defense officials, incoming threats were either intercepted by the carrier strike group’s layered defense systems—including the Aegis Combat System—or fell short, landing harmlessly in open water.

A CENTCOM spokesperson emphasized that the carrier “remains fully operational,” underscoring that flight operations have continued uninterrupted. The Navy released updated imagery and operational data showing the Lincoln conducting missions in the Arabian Sea, reportedly operating in proximity to Oman’s coastal geography. From that position, it continues to deploy F-35C stealth fighters as part of “Operation Epic Fury,” the broader U.S. campaign aimed at degrading Iran’s retaliatory capabilities.

The Immediate Context: Leadership Decapitation and Rapid Escalation

The dispute over the Lincoln cannot be separated from the events of the preceding 48 hours. On February 28, U.S. and Israeli forces conducted an expansive air campaign targeting approximately 2,000 sites across Iran. International reporting suggests that the strikes focused on command-and-control centers, elements of nuclear infrastructure, and high-ranking officials.

By March 1, Iranian state media confirmed that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been killed in one of the strikes on a leadership compound in Tehran. The confirmation marked an unprecedented moment in the history of the Islamic Republic. The loss of its highest authority triggered a nationwide mourning period while simultaneously accelerating retaliatory actions across multiple fronts. What followed was a rapid and complex series of missile launches, drone deployments, and proxy activity stretching beyond Iran’s borders.
