Hollywood actor and director Clint Eastwood is going through a difficult time following the death of his longtime partner, Christina Sandera. The couple had been together for nearly a decade, from 2014 until 2018. Sandera passed away at the age of 61.
Eastwood, now 94 years old, shared the heartbreaking news in a statement expressing his deep sorrow over the loss. The cause of death has not yet been publicly disclosed.
“Christina was a loving and kind woman, and I will miss her dearly,” Eastwood said on Thursday evening. A Warner Bros. representative told The Hollywood Reporter that no further details would be released at this time.
Sandera became widely known due to her long-term relationship with Eastwood. Their relationship began around 2014, and she often accompanied him to public events and red carpets, clearly holding an important place in his life. Despite staying mostly out of the public eye, her connection to one of Hollywood’s most iconic figures brought her media attention.
The couple first met when Sandera was working as a hostess at Eastwood’s restaurant and hotel in California, “Mission Ranch.” They made their first public appearance together at the 2015 Oscars, where Eastwood’s film American Sniper was nominated for six awards. Though they hadn’t been seen together publicly since 2019, a photo from November 2022 with Clint’s daughters shows that they were still spending time together more recently.
A source told a popular magazine that Eastwood was “happy with Christina.” The same source added: “All of Clint’s kids knew and liked Christina. They saw her as down-to-earth and normal.”
Despite his advanced age, Eastwood has remained active in his career. In his personal life, he has had multiple relationships and marriages. His first marriage was in 1953, arranged through a blind date. That marriage produced two children, but was troubled by Eastwood’s multiple affairs. During the marriage, he had a relationship with actress Roxanne Tunis, with whom he had a daughter.
After divorcing his wife in 1984, Eastwood had a 14-year relationship with actress Sondra Locke, which ended on tense terms. In the 1980s, he fathered two children with flight attendant Jacelyn Reeves. In 1996, he married journalist Dina Ruiz—a marriage that attracted media attention and brought them a daughter. However, that relationship also ended in divorce in 2013.
